MICHAEL JOHN OBUCHOWSKI of Rockingham, Windham County, Democrat, was born in Bellows Falls, Vermont on February 4, 1952. He was educated in elementary and high schools in Bellows Falls, Vermont. He attended summer programs at Bennington College and Philips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts and attended Harvard College. He is employed as Assistant to the CEO at Basketville, Inc., Putney, Vermont. Member of: Bellows Falls High School Alumni Association, secretary; Rockingham Charities, Ltd., board member; Health Center at Bellows Falls, incorporator and former board member; New England Kurn Hattin Homes, incorporator and trustee; B.P.O.E. #1619; Polish-American Club; Abenaqui Rod & Gun Club; Bellows Falls Terriers Booster Club; Bellows Falls Historical Society; Grafton Museum of Natural History; Arts Council of Windham County; Friends of the Vermont State House; Our Town group, Bellows Falls; Rockingham and Windham County Democratic committees. Former member: New England Board of Higher Education; Vermont Health Policy Corporation; Judicial Retention Committee; Governor's Commission on the Economic Future of Vermont; Emergency Board and numerous legislative study committees. He has chaired the House Appropriations, Commerce, Education, and Energy committees. He has also chaired the Joint Energy Committee, Joint Transportation Oversight Committee, Joint Telecommunications Study Committee and Joint Fiscal Committee.
