Greetings...

As March Meeting approaches, we urge the 75 or so municipal clerks who now have e-mail to contact us electronically if we can be of assistance. For those who are not yet "wired" for electronic communications, let us know if we can help with technology advice.

As usual, we will be available for questions in our office until 9 p.m. on Monday, March 2, and until 9 on Town Meeting Day as well.

Looking beyond March, please be sure to respond to the questionnaire below regarding the type of voting machines your town or city will be using in the upcoming Primary and General elections.

A paper copy of this edition of Vermont Municipal Monthly is being mailed to each town and city clerk. Anyone who would like to be notified electronically each time a new issue is posted on our Web site (http://www.sec.state.vt.us) may e-mail us at publist@sec.state.vt.us with a request.

CONTENTS:

1996 Voting Machine Data

Please find below a list, last updated for the General Election in 1996, of towns that have voting machines. Many of you have purchased voting machines in the interim, and some of you have changed to another brand of voting machine.

As we prepare a bid for ballot printing for the upcoming Primary and General elections, we would appreciate it if you would fill out the form at the end of this document and return it to our office so that we have an accurate accounting of what voting machines are in use where.

If you wish to e-mail the information to Elections Director Ellen Tofferi (at etofferi@sec.state.vt.us), please remember to include

    1. Name of municipality.

    2. Type of voting machine.

    3. Your name.
