MICHAEL D. FLAHERTY of South Burlington, Chittenden County, Democrat was born in Medford, Massachusetts on July 7, 1934. Occupation: pharmaceutical, sales and marketing, retired. He was educated at the E. Fifield School, Dorchester, Massachusetts; Boston English High School, Boston, Massachusetts; Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts (B.S., 1956); University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont (M.B.A., 1971). He is married to the former Paula Barra, and they have one daughter, Colleen, and two sons, Kevin and Keith. Member of: South Burlington City Council (1972-1996); Burlington Airport Commission(1988- ); Channel 17, board of trustees; R.S.V.P., board; South Burlington Zoning and Planning Commission; Governor Kunin's Commission on Burlington Airport; V.L.C.T, board of directors; 1982 Steering Committee, president; Chittenden County Light Rail committee; Civic Advisory Committee; Greater Burlington Transit Study.
