          MAUREEN P. DAKIN          


MAUREEEN PIETRYKA DAKIN of Colchester, Chittenden County, Democrat, was born in Proctor, Vermont on March 17, 1950 and became a resident of her present town in 1973. She attended elementary and high schools in West Rutland; University of Vermont (B.A., 1972); Trinity College, Burlington, Vermont (B.A., 1989); Associate, Vermont Leadership Institute, Snelling Center for Government (1995-96). She is married to Robert E. Dakin, PE, and they have one daughter, one son and one grandson. Member of: Colchester Tourism Board; Colchester Community Band; Friends of the Burnham Library; Colchester Community Development Corporation; National Council of Women Legislators; Colchester Democratic Committee, chair. Former member: Vermont Human Services Board, Vermont Board of Dental Examiners, Colchester school board, vice chair. Colchester justice of the peace. HENRY G. (HANK) SCHAEFER of Colchester, Chittenden County, Republican, was born on June 14, 1936 in New York, New York and became resident of present town in 1968. Occupation: retired financial analyst; publisher, Colchester News Magazine. He was educated at Atlantic Avenue School, Lynbrook, New York; LaSalle Military Academy, Oakdale, New York; New York University, New York, New York (B.S., 1963; M.B.A., 1968). He is married to Inge Schaefer, and they have three sons. He served three years in the United States Army. Member of: Colchester Charter Committee, past chair.
