JAMES J. MCNAMARA of Burlington, Chittenden County, Democrat, was born in Colchester, Vermont on April 9, 1927. Occupation: attorney. He attended elementary schools in Burlington, Vermont; Cathedral High School, Burlington, Vermont; Holy Cross College, Worcester, Massachusetts (A.B., 1950); Cornell University Law School, Ithaca, New York (LL.B., 1953). He is married to Eleanor McNamara, and they have four children. Member of: Vermont Bar Association; Chittenden County Bar Association. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Member of the House: 1994 (seated January 4, 1994), 1995-96, 1997-98, 1999-2000. Religious preference: Roman Catholic. Home phone: 862-7116.
